① What is asystole?
- A type of cardiac arrest with no electrical activity in the heart, which cause heart to stop pumping.
- No electrocardiogram waveforms are observed. (flat line or flat outline)
- Ventricular systole is less than six times per minute.
- The patient's prognosis is not good
② What should we do in an asystole situation?
- Immediate CPR
- Inject epinephrine
- Treating the underlying problem
③ What is the cause of asystole?
(5H and 5T)
- Hypovolemia- Hypoxia
- Hydrogenion (metabolic acidosis)
- Hyper/hypokalemia
- Hypothermia
- Tension pneumothorax
- Tamponade , cardiac
- Thrombosis, coronary (acute)
- Thrombosis, pulmonary
- Toxins
